Meet our House Manager at Seattle Sober Living’s Kirkland location, Kyle West
Originally from Iowa, I started my journey to sobriety when I was 19 years old and in college at the University of Northern Iowa. For the next 6 years, I found myself in and out of jails and institutions. I began my recovery on April 5th, 2015 at a treatment center in Rockford, IL, which lead me to a long term treatment center in New Haven, CT. From there I moved to Seattle Sober Living’s West Seattle facility to be closer to my brother. I started working for Seattle Sober Living in January of 2017.
In October of 2017, I was given the opportunity to open and manage the Kirkland facility and I have been the full-time manager of it since. I really enjoy working with the men at this house, as it has brought many new challenges and rewards along with it. Currently, I am in school at Bellevue College in their Chemical Dependency Professional program, as I continue to work on improving my skills in the field of Alcohol and Drug Counseling.
I enjoy working at SSL because I got sober through structured sober living and I enjoy seeing others find success doing the same. I have always found happiness in helping others, and the field of Alcohol and Drug Abuse is a platform that I empathize with and excel in.
